Juvenia was launched in 2008. Today, our staff consists of over 30 specialists in youth research and youth field.

We carry out research and development at the local, national and international levels, as well as training and professional services.

Our aim is to improve the inclusion and citizenship of the youth, to strengthen the communality and to prevent marginalization.

We support equal and participatory youth!

Our goal in Juvenia – Youth Research and Development Centre is to support equal and participatory youth by combining effective research and development work.

Our activities focus on strengthening young people’s inclusion, citizenship and communality, and preventing marginalization. In the youth sector, we promote, among other things, environmental awareness, digitalization and internationalization.

We employ more than 30 researchers and developer experts who implement local, national and international research and development projects that focus on multidisciplinary youth research, as well as the development and evaluation of youth services and methods in the youth field. In addition, we offer training and expert services. During its years of operation, Juvenia has implemented more than 80 research, development and training projects related to young people.

Our core competence is youth-oriented research and development. As a learning environment for co-development, Juvenia brings together young people, stakeholders and Xamk’s own students as well as international trainees and researchers.

(In)justice International World convention in Mikkeli Spring 2023!

(In)Justice International is a not-for-profit multidisciplinary global collective accessible to all. Our aim is to uncover, expose and publicise injustices/atrocities committed against the environment, indigenous peoples, ethnic minorities, refugees, disabled people, the so-called ‘troublesome youth’ and people from poorer class backgrounds. Injustices inflicted against gender ‘difference’ is also an important consideration. Moreover, research from social policy, sociology, politics, disability studies, human geography, economics, criminology, legal activism, migration studies and investigative reporting are reflected in our dissemination of such nefarious acts through books, journals, newsletters, workshops and annual conventions.

Our World Convention will be hosted in Mikkeli in 28.-31.3.2023 by South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) and Juvenia Youth Research and Development Centre. We call for abstracts for presentations by scholars, NGOs, barristers and practitioners in the fields of sociology and social policy, anthropology, geography, critical economics, political sciences and criminology, gender studies, youth studies and disability studies. Abstracts or proposed talks from people who have ‘lived’ experience of this desperation or have reported upon it would also be welcome.

You can send an abstract by December 1st 2022.
