Call for Abstracts
Beyond: Open Science and Research

We invite writers from all Universities of Applied Science to contribute to Beyond: Open Science and Research. Beyond is a professional open research publication targeted at professional and scientific audiences. We welcome articles from teachers, educators, project workers, researchers, collaborators, and those in support or administrative functions.

With the theme ‘Open Science and Research’, we want to highlight the role of versatile action plans, processes and services which support the planning, implementation and development of open science and research in Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS).

Too often, the role of the support services is hidden behind the scenes as a background part of RDI and Education activities, yet they are crucial in advancing and implementing open science policy recommendations within their institutions. In this issue, we welcome contributions investigating the role of support services in UAS, the Open Science movement, the implementation of national or international policies, and the conduct of applied science broadly speaking.

For example, the articles can address such questions as:

  • How can Universities of Applied Sciences better support the planning, implementation and development of open science and research?
    • How can the support services be developed?
    • How does RDI project financing affect the development of research and institutional values?
  • What is the role of the open science movement in universities of applied sciences?
    • What role does publishing play in open science and research?
    • How can institutions better connect education and RDI activities?
  • How has the implementation of CoARA affected research and the support services of applied sciences universities?
    • Who is an ‘applied researcher’, and how do they see their professional identity?
    • To what extent does internationalisation challenge existing paradigms of science and research?

Write an article for Beyond in English related to the theme and share information about your project(s), research, teaching, and activities. You can write with your colleagues, national and international partners, and associates. Students can collaborate with staff to write together. Experienced and novice writers alike are welcome to suggest papers. Editorial support and free language editing are provided for all writers.
